The original Fancy Fair was held in Grovelands Park and was used to raise money to build the improved St Paul’s school next to the church. This replaced the small clapper board school house, still seen on Church Hill.
The Fancy Fair of 2012 will see Winchmore Hill Green pedestrianized, and a great celebration will take place to bring people together, as we try to re-create a Fair that will be long remembered in the memories of Winchmore Hill residents.
The Grand Opening of N21 Festival will start at 10 O'clock on The Green, Winchmore Hill, N21. It promises to be a notable occasion with the attendance of the Mayor of Enfield, David Burrowes MP, two Winchmore Hill residents who are 98 and 100 years old and a brass band to start the 8-day extravaganza - this will herald the start of this wonderful Festival, which runs from 16th - 23rd June.
